Discussion, Debate and Diplomacy Highlight Model UN Experience

An experience like no other

Christopher Kerwin ‘22, Staff Writer

BC High Model United Nations (MUN) is an experience like no other. It is a club where members, or “delegates” as they are called, gather weekly to discuss and debate and potentially resolve world issues and conflicts. Delegates also get to attend state-wide and national conferences where they meet new people from schools throughout the country.

According to BC High Model UN General Secretary Teddy Pasto, “Model UN is more than a Club for so many. It is the entryway to explore pressing world issues, debate opposing views and learn to compromise and communicate your views as a diplomat.”

As a member of BC High MUN since 7th grade, I have personally found the Club to be a lot of fun as well as a great opportunity to improve or learn new skills like public speaking, debating and diplomacy. If you think MUN is the club for you or if you would like to learn more about Model UN, feel free to email me at cm.kerwin22@students.bchigh.edu.
