Yes, there is a ping pong club at BC High and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. Members meet up in Loyola 1 every Monday after school to play a few friendly matches of this Olympic sport. Games are determined on a first come first serve basis, with rotations every 7 or so minutes to ensure everyone gets in on the fun. When you are awaiting your turn, there are plenty of tables available for conquering homework or conversing with friends. Mrs. Collins provides the paddles, balls, and nets for the club while 3 tables are rolled over from the storage closet. She also brings candy such as Nerds, Laffy Taffy, Starbursts, and Lemonheads for any and all takers. Sometimes there’s seaweed as well. Since this is a drop-in club, feel free to stop in whenever to hone in on your table tennis skills.
